MALDON: Past, Present & Future
  28 June - 20 July

  Maldon Inc. warms up winter with over 3 weeks of activities held in our beautiful town. This year's theme is designed to make us appreciate the wonderful historic buildings and landscapes in the goldfields region, and to think about future directions for our area.

Stay a day, a night, a weekend, a week – there's plenty to do, including:
  * Steam train rides Maldon-Castlemaine, www.vgr.com.au
* Maldon Museum 1:30 - 4:00 pm, 7 days
* Porcupine Township tours – 7 days
* Vintage Machinery Museum – weekends, 12 noon onwards
* Petanque - any time, at the Penny School. Free tuition, boules provided. Australia's fastest-growing game.

Program for Maldon in Winter 2008:

Postcards from the Heart
"Every story would be a different story if it happened somewhere else". Eudora Welty
Living in the Maldon area, the heart of Victoria - how does that affect us? How can we express the importance of place? Pick up a postcard from Peppercorn Books and use it to create a sense of what Maldon and its surrounds means to you. Use words, images or both. Also photos, collage, drawing, painting, dried flowers, a poem…
Your card will be displayed during Maldon In Winter at the Wine & Food Festival. Only the front of the card will be displayed. You can be anonymous - just leave your name off the card. Deliver your card to Peppercorn Books no later than Fri. 27th June.
