Blue Light Youth Camp is located in Maldon 136km northwest of Melbourne. Blue Light is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to assist the police to rectify the imbalance of proactive and reactive policing where young people are concerned. This is done by providing young people with positive lifestyle alternatives and strategies to avoid becoming an offender or victim of crime. Our school camps provide the opportunity for young people to gain invaluable bike safety skills as well other activities that will build self confidence.
Located close to the centre of Maldon Township, the camp was built in 1987 at a cost of $1.8 million, being designed to replicate the style of the original Derby Hill Gold Mine, located at the site. In 1990 the camp was acquired from the Victorian Government by the Blue Light Victoria and developed as a school camp.
The camp offers the unique opportunity for children to undertake our Bicycle Safety Program whilst enjoying the history and adventure that the camp and the town offers.
