Maldon In Winter Festival – it’s always tempting to stay at home and hibernate during the cold weather, but you really should grab a warm coat and hit the road to Maldon and its famous Winter Festival. From 30th June to 16th July, there’s a wonderful range of events during the Maldon In Winter Festival to enjoy with family and friends.
Go for a day or stay for a weekend. There’s always a warm welcome in this beautiful old goldrush town. The strong Christmas tradition runs through the town with the local eateries putting on slap-up Christmas dinners with mulled wine, cider and other drinks to warm the heart. And from the beginning of the school holidays, the shops on High Street and Main Street will be lit up with Maldon’s famous Christmas windows.
July 6th – Maldon Movies Film Society is showing the film Break Of Day at the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre. Black Tie or Period Costume please.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the production of the film, which was largely shot in Maldon and districts; some locals were involved as extras.
July 9th – Celebrate all things winter at the Maldon Market: Hand Made, Home Grown from 9 – 2pm.
