Maldon Winter Festival Bonfire Night

Saturday 20th June

As the longest night of the year approaches, the eve of the Winter Solstice comes alive with the much-loved Bonfire Night, proudly hosted by the Maldon Lions Club Vic.

Passengers at the Castlemaine Railway station will be greeted by the Town Crier before they set off on the Goldfields steam train and arrive at Maldon.

All 350 people will be led in a procession by the Town Crier to the bonfire celebrations.

The evening will feature live music from The Diplomats, with special guest performances by Beth String Fix and Kenny Green.

Glow sticks will be available on the night, adding colour and light to the celebrations.

The Winter Solstice is traditionally a time of reflection, release, and renewal. Visitors will be invited to write down something they wish to let go of - a habit, belief, challenge, or burden - and place it into the bonfire as a symbolic act of release. They will also have the opportunity to write a wish, intention, or dream for the future on a golden stone to take home as a reminder of what they hope to create and manifest in the months ahead.

Gather around the warmth of the bonfire, celebrate the return of the light, and enjoy an unforgettable evening with family, friends, and visitors from near and far!

Free entry and entertainment. Food and drinks are available for purchase on the night. Bring your chair, blanket and beanie and enjoy the festivities.
